Sudano-Sahelian Area
Savannas, lamidats and Fulani horsemanship
Where the savanna meets the Mandara mountains, the Sudano-Sahelian area stretches from the Adamawa plateau to the plains of the Far North. Land of Fulani lamidats, Mousgoum mud huts and age-old markets, it carries the mark of the great sultanates and of transhumant pastoralism.
